Gearbox’s parent company Embracer acquires Dark Horse Comics

American comics firm Darkish Horse was not too long ago acquired by the Embracer Group, in response to a press release by the conglomerate. Darkish Horse has revealed such classics as Hellboy, 300, and The Umbrella Academy, and its catalog has a major variety of tie-in comics and merchandise for videogames like The Witcher, Dragon Age, and Apex Legends.

Bloomberg reported earlier this month on Darkish Horse weighing its choices for potential consumers, with rumors pointing to Netflix, Disney, and Viacom as choices. Of the varied potential consumers, Embracer appears much less more likely to exert important editorial or artistic management of the writer. Prior to now, the Embracer Group has operated with a comparatively hands-off method for acquisitions like Gearbox, Saber Interactive, and Espresso Stain Studios (the creators of Goat Simulator and Passable).
