Krafton published its earnings report on Friday and it clearly states that the company has been able to increase its profits

 As per the report, sales went up by 61 percent year over year and hit a figure of $82.3 million

PUBG: Battlegrounds was launched as a paid title on Steam in the year 2017

the publishers thought that projecting it as a premium paid title would work for it

the company soon observed battle royale shooter games like Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite

This made them rethink their strategy.
